Brunei Citizen traveling to Hong Kong SAR

1. Brunei citizen holding a Brunei passport may travel to HKSAR visa-free for a short visit or tourism and stay in HKSAR for up to 90 days.

2. Brunei citizen should obtain a visa if the intended stay in HKSAR is more than 90 days, or the purpose of visit is to work, study, establish or join in any business or to take up residence in the HKSAR before traveling to HKSAR. Please visit the website of HKSAR Immigration Department (https://www.immd.gov.hk/eng/services/index.html) for details.

3. How to apply for a HKSAR visa:

A. For those who are required a visa to HKSAR, the applicants can either apply the visa directly to the Immigration Department of HKSAR Government or apply the visa through the Chinese Embassy in Brunei.

B. Follow the guidelines for HKSAR Visa and prepare required supporting documents with your application.

C. Processing Time: 4 weeks or more.

D. Fees and payments:

1) If you apply directly to the Immigration Department of the HKSAR Government, you should pay the fees as required by the Immigration Department of the HKSAR Government.

2) If you apply through the Chinese Embassy, your application needs to be referred to HKSAR Immigration Department for processing, you are required to pay a communication fee of BND 30 to the Embassy prior to submission of your application, in addition to the visa fee (BND 50) which is charged once your visa is approved. 

Non-Brunei Citizen traveling to Hong Kong SAR

1. Please check the visa requirements or visa-free arrangements for non-Brunei citizen, who intends to travel to HKSAR for a short visit or tourism, by visiting the website of HKSAR Immigration Department (https://www.immd.gov.hk/eng/services/visas/visit-transit/visit-visa-entry-permit.html).

2. Non-Brunei citizen should obtain a visa if the purpose of visit is to work, study, establish or join in any business or to take up residence in the HKSAR before traveling to HKSAR. Please visit the website of HKSAR Immigration Department for details (https://www.immd.gov.hk/eng/services/index.html).

3. How to apply for a HKSAR visa:

A. For those who are required a visa to HKSAR, the applicants can either apply the visa directly to the Immigration Department of HKSAR Government or apply the visa through the Chinese Embassy in Brunei.

B. Follow the guidelines for HKSAR Visa and prepare required supporting documents with your application.

C. Processing Time:

1) Visa issued within the authority of the Embassy, the processing time is 4 working days (normal), 3 working days (express) or 2 working days (urgent).

2) If the visa application needs to be forwarded to the Immigration Department of the HKSAR Government, the processing time is usually 4 weeks or longer.

D. Fees and payments:

1) If you apply directly to the Immigration Department of the HKSAR Government, you should pay the fees as required by the Immigration Department of the HKSAR Government.

2) If visa issued within the authority of the Embassy, visa fee is BND 50. If you need to expedite the processing, you will need to pay an additional BND 34 express fee or BND 50 urgent fee.

3) If your application needs to be referred to HKSAR Immigration Department for approval, you are required to pay a communication fee of BND 30 to the Embassy prior to submission of your application, in addition to the visa fee (BND 50) which is charged once your visa is approved.

Brunei Citizen traveling to Macao SAR

Brunei citizen holding a Brunei passport may travel to HKSAR visa-free for a short visit or tourism and stay in Macao SAR for up to 14 days.

Non-Brunei Citizen traveling to Macao SAR

1. Visas are required for citizens from Bangladesh, Nepal, Nigeria, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Vietnam to enter Macao SAR. However, the diplomatic passport holder from the above-mentioned 6 countries may enter Macao SAR without visa.

2. For the citizens of other countries, they may either enter Macao SAR without visa or make an entry permit (visa-upon-arrival) application upon their arrival at Macao SAR. Please check the visa-free arrangements or visa requirements by visiting the website of Macao SAR Public Security Police Force (https://www.fsm.gov.mo/psp/cht/psp_top5.html).

3. How to apply for a Macao SAR visa:

A. For those who are required a visa to Macao SAR, the applicants can either apply the visa directly to the Immigration service of Macao SAR Public Security Police Force or apply the visa through the Chinese Embassy in Brunei.

B. You may apply for a landing upon arrival in Macao SAR (some exclusions apply, check the website of Macao SAR Public Security Police Force for detailed info).

C. Follow the guidelines for Macao SAR Visa and prepare required supporting documents with your application.

D. Processing Time:

1) Visa issued within the authority of the Embassy, the processing time is 4 working days (normal), 3 working days (express) or 2 working days (urgent).

2) If the visa application needs to be forwarded to Macao SAR Public Security Police Force, the processing time is usually 10 days or longer.

E. Fees and payments: If your application needs to be referred to Macao SAR Public Security Police Force for processing, you are required to pay a communication fee of BND 30 to the Embassy prior to submission of your application, in addition to the Macao SAR visa fee (BND 50) which is charged once your visa is approved. Otherwise, you must pay directly to Macao SAR Government as instructed.
