On the occasion of the 30th Anniversary of the Independence of Brunei Darussalam, Xi Jinping, President of the People’s Republic of China, extended congratulations to His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah.
President Xi said, in the past 30 years since the independence of Brunei Darussalam, significant progress has been made in its economic and social development, and continuous progress has been registered in improving the people’s living standards. Meanwhile, Brunei has played an important role in regional and international affairs. China and Brunei Darussalam are friendly neighbors. We have established the China-Brunei Strategic Cooperative Relationship. I am ready to work closely with His Majesty to further promote our traditional friendship and the continuous development of the bilateral relations.
