On 9 March, His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah sent a message of sympathy to H.E. Mr. Xi Jinping, President of the People’s Republic of China, on the incident of the missing Malaysian Airlines flight.
In the message, His Majesty expressed his deep concern upon hearing the flight MH370 from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing lost contact with ground, which carried many Chinese nationals on board. His Majesty said that the government and people of Brunei Darussalam wish to convey their deepest sympathies to the people and government of China, especially to the families of all the affected passengers, and pray for them at this difficult time.
On the same day, His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Brunei Darussalam also sent a message of sympathy to H.E. Mr. Wang Yi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China.
